It’s Time for KidsDay!!!

 This year’s event, presented by our friends at BP, is already shaping up to be a must attend by all.  Join us for the #1 Outreach event for kids, teens and families on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 to 4:00 PM at the Dena’ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage.

This year’s theme, "Under the Big Top" encourages all exhibitors and agencies to join in a festival of celebrating children and youth with free and fun activities.  To help bring this theme alive, the KidsDay Planning Committee is busy developing entertainment throughout the day that will include clowns, balloon artists, magicians and more. 

We look forward to spending the day "Under the Big Top" with all!

If you are new to KidsDay and Teen City, you will soon find out that this event has long been recognized by our community as the #1 outreach opportunity to children, youth and families.  Organizations that register and plan fun activities in their exhibit area will have the opportunity to reach out and engage with thousands of children, teens and families.  This number one outreach event will give you the opportunity to increase participation in your services, distribute information on the resources you have, and to network with other youth servicing organization.  And have a little fun at the same time!!

In 2011 over 18,000 children, youth and adults participated in KidsDay and Teen City!

Since 2004, Anchorage’s Promise – The Alliance for Youth has worked with a dedicated volunteer committee to produce KidsDay.  In 2011, Teen City was introduced for teens.  Our agency is dedicated to helping our youth, parents and community understand the importance of ensuring that each young person receives the five fundamental resources that they need to allow them to grow into caring adults.  We call these the Five Promises.  As a partner of KidsDay and Teen City you are taking an active role in helping our community understand the importance of: safe places for kids, the need to provide a healthy start and future, the value of having a caring adult in the life of each youth, understanding how effective education can ensure that all youth have the skills needed to pursue college, vocational training and the field of work that they are interested in.  KidsDay and Teen City also provides the opportunity for kids to volunteer and give back to their community in a valuable way.
